Chef Karen Nicolas
Karen Nicolas was one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs of
2012, at Equinox. She threw dinner parties for her friends in high school,
getting an early start in food, and was encouraged by a home ec/cooking
teacher. She has been strongly influenced by her mother and their Filipino
heritage and the television show Great Chefs.

March 15th is Corn Dog Day. This street food has been around since about 1925 or so, though the complete truth of their history is likely lost to time. Lots of people have laid claim to its introduction, or who came up with the stick method of serving.
