National Cheese Doodle Day - Mar. 5th; Chef Anita Lo

Named one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs in America in 2001, Anita Lo – a second generation Chinese American – got her degree in French lit, and studied the language in Paris. It was there she learned a love of French cuisine. She beat Mario Batali on Iron Chef America in 2005 and has received rave reviews for her restaurant Annisa, which has earned a Michelin star. She is also the author of Cooking Without Borders.

March 5th is Cheese Doodle Day (or Absinthe Day, but I don't recommend the two together). These are known by many different names; I'm more familiar with "cheese puffs" than "doodles," but whatever you call them, this corn-based junk food with the neon orange cheese flavor is a popular American snack. Maybe your family even has a recipe for using them as an ingredient?
